SUMMER 2022 TREND ALERT

SUMMER 2022 TREND ALERT
Today, so many micro trends appear and disappear in the blink of an eye, mainly due to fast fashion and the rapid speed of social media consumption. However, looking back at the past two seasons on the runway, there are some trends we have found consistent throughout. To make it a bit easier for you to navigate what is worth investing in this summer, we have compiled a list of trends we are sure will stay for the entirety of it.

SPORT SUNGLASSES
Odd, alien-like, sport sunglasses are at the top of our must-have list this summer. Sport sunglasses have been on an upwards trend for the past few years, but this past season the trend was elevated by brands such as Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga, who introduced more futuristic, sleek versions of the style.

STATEMENT CO-ORDS
Co-ords seem to be a recurring trend season after season, with the most recent being athleisure co-ords mainly due to the pandemic. With the world opening back up, we are seeing a resurgence of a more fun, bright, going-out co-ord, just in time for summer.

BOLD COLOR
It seems many people and brands are experimenting with color this season. Bright, bold colors are the new black! According to Pantone, London's S/S 2022 color palette features rich but light colors, as seen below.

MICRO MINI
We saw a resurgence of the early 2000s micro mini trend when Miu Miu debuted their mini skirt in their Spring 2022 collection back in October 2021. Since then, the trend seems to have taken over the industry by storm, and it is not going anywhere.

MOTO
Arguably, this trend could have started late 2020, when @bloodyosiris posed in front of the Gugghenaim wearing full Balenciaga moto-gear, but it really took off late 2021 when high-profile artists began styling their everyday wear with work-gear, such as moto gloves or boots. With shows featuring elements of this wear for F22, we are sure this trend is not going anywhere.

SKIN
Sheer, mesh, and cutouts were all over the runways this season. Brands are finding unique ways to create sensual but interesting clothing to highlight the skin and body.
